Links to Interactive Math Tools and Activities for Students and Teachers

About:

Johnnie's Math Page is meant to be a window onto the world of worthwhile math activities available for children on the web.  A great number of websites offer math activities for children but too many are unengaging to children or, just as importantly, have too little math content.  The links I have chosen are meant for children.  The math from these sites is interesting and the presentation engaging.  The organization of these links is meant for parents, teachers and tutors so that they may easily find the math that matters most to the children they are teaching.

The original Johnnie's Math Page was created in 2005. I created it to support my math coaching work for teachers in Pajaro Valley Unified School District in California. I taught elementary school for a number of years, mostly fifth grade. I became interested in mathematics teaching and learning through the California Math Project. For the last ten years I have been a mentor teacher in mathematics for elementary school teachers.  During this time, I completed my Master's work in Curriculum and Teacher Education at Stanford University, and continued graduate work in math education.  I am presently working as a Math Curriculum Coordinator at an international school in Europe.

I have altered this page a number of times trying to make it more user friendly and comprehensive. Please contact me with suggested sites.
